Job Description

Plant Maintenance – Refrigeration Maintenance


Dairy / Bakery Plant


To carry out effective and efficient maintenance of company asset by adhering to standard operating procedures, engineering standards, safety and quality practices thus ensuring optimal plant utilization.


Refrigeration Maintenance:

1. Carry out planned preventive maintenance to ammonia refrigeration plants.
2. Attend to scheduled shutdown maintenance and provide servicing to refrigeration systems and components e.g. gas compressors, condensers, evaporators, electrical controls, etc
3. Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting to ammonia refrigeration systems and components.
4. Request for appropriate/suitable PTW as required e.g. working at height, hot work, etc.
Plant Utilities Mechanical Services:
1. Carry out planned preventive maintenance to mechanical systems and components on utility machinery, facilities and sundry equipment.
2. Attend to scheduled shutdown maintenance and provide servicing to mechanical systems and equipment e.g. boilers, air compressor units, standby generating sets, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, RO plants, deep well pumps, Crawford doors, LPG systems, reservoirs and components
3. Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting to utility mechanical equipment.
4. Request for appropriate PTW and suitable as required e.g. entry into confined spaces, entry into unguarded machines, working at height, hot work, heavy lift, etc.
5. Apply LOTO procedures and other isolation techniques


Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years experience or Diploma with 5 years experience
In mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering

English oral and written communication

Exposure to dairy or bakery machinery and equipment maintenance


1. Machine Availability: Ensure that plant machinery and sundry equipment are maintained and available for operations.
2. Efficient Maintenance: Ensure that maintenance of plant machinery, facilities and sundry equipment are carried efficientlly.
3. Machine Utilization: Ensure plant machinery, facilities and sundry equipment optimal utilization are achieved.
4. Maintenance Reliability: Ensure that maintenance reliability on machinery, facilities and sundry equipment maintenance is practiced and achieved ensuring minimal unscheduled breakdown / downtime factor
5. Preventive Maintenance: Ensure that planned preventative / shutdown maintenance is timely attended to, ensuring effective use of resources and best engineering practices applied.
6. Use of Resources: Ensure proper and safe use / handling of tools, diagnostic equipment, components & machine parts while performing tasks adhering to standard engineering & OEM practices
7. OH&S Practice: Ensure adhering to occupational Health & Safety Best Practice and utilizing suitable and sufficient control to eleminate if not minimise incidents.
8. Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) & Permit to Work (PTW):: Ensure adhering to LOTO & approriate PTW requirements, applications and standard operating procedures in the proper isolation and lock out of plant machinery, facilities and
